Gemstone cutting to your required dimensions

Develop a colored gemstone around a specific outline, jewelry setting or component. Gemformia works with natural and lab-grown colored gemstones, combining gemstone processing with jewelry design and setting in Daluotang, Panyu, Guangzhou, China.

Send your intended length, width and depth in millimeters, the material and quantity. If a stone needs to fit an existing setting, include a drawing of the stone seat or surrounding parts. Identify the measurements that matter most so we can review the fit before quoting.

What should you send for a gemstone cutting quote?

Start with what you know. You can begin with a clear reference and approximate dimensions. Leave undecided specifications open; our team will identify what needs to be confirmed before a quotation and processing plan can be agreed.

How do you specify a stone for an existing setting?

Include the stone outline and a dimensioned drawing of the seat, if available. Mark the required length, width, depth and any other critical contact or clearance measurements. Tell us whether the setting is already made or still being developed.

A photograph alone may leave important dimensions unclear. If you have not decided on a tolerance, say so instead of guessing. Our team reviews the material, shape and fitting requirements before confirming achievable dimensions and inspection details for the project.

Custom-cut colored gemstones and specialty shapes

Our supplied photographs show oval cuts, faceted specialty shapes, step cuts and mixed outlines. Use them to explain a starting point, or send your own outline and cut diagram. State the gemstone material separately; color in a photograph does not establish the material or specifications for your order.

For several sizes or shapes, list each one with its dimensions and quantity. For pairs or groups, describe the color, outline and size consistency you require so the matching and polishing requirements can be reviewed together.

What happens after you send the cutting brief?

  1. Review the reference: discuss the material, outline, dimensions, intended use and quantity.
  2. Confirm the proposal: review feasibility, critical measurements, finishing requirements, quotation and schedule.
  3. Process and inspect: follow the agreed cutting and polishing requirements and inspection details for your project.
